The great taste of Richie Root Beer develops into RICHardson Foods
In 1916, Pharmacist Alick Richardson and his brother Dirbin, created a secret syrup to give patients with the medicine they prescribed - a common practice of the times. They said the rich, sugary substance tasted so good that the Richardsons mixed it with carbonation and began selling it. Before long, Richie Root Beer was created and RICHardson Foods was founded.
A full line of fountain and shake syrups were offered and restaurants nationwide still carry the same products the Richardsons developed. You can still taste the old fashioned soda shop quality in these fine products now manufactured by Baldwin Richardson Foods.
