Our Facilities
Located in Westmont, IL, this state-of-the-art facility is where chefs, food scientists, and researchers come together to explore ingredients, flavors, and textures, developing and testing new food and beverage products. It’s equipped with advanced technology for small-batch production and recipe refinement across various categories, including sauces, syrups, dressings and beverages.
BRF has two R&D labs: our main facility in Westmont, IL, and another in Williamson, NY, located within our manufacturing plant. They serve as central hubs for innovation, where the BRF team develops new formulations by testing and analyzing ingredients (including nutraceuticals). They also conduct packaging tests, refine production processes, and ensure quality and food safety standards.
Our plant trials ensure compliance with rigorous benchmarks, while allowing us to test new recipes, refine formulations, and enhance efficiency. During these trials, we run small batches through various production stages to identify potential issues, assessing shelf life and ingredient interactions. By incorporating customer feedback, we fine-tune our products to create reliable offerings that meet specific needs.
Our specialized lab at the Westmont, IL Culinary Center is designed to evaluate the sensory qualities of food products, including taste, texture, aroma, appearance, and mouthfeel. We use trained panels and consumer feedback to refine recipes and formulations, enabling us to create products that deliver the best experience.
