Sustainability matters to us because we believe in doing our part to make the world a better place.
Baldwin Richardson Foods (BRF) works on sustainability initiatives beyond our company. We provide a variety of scholarships in many different communities. Following natural disasters and other crises, we’ve provided disaster relief in many forms. And our employees are supported when they want to volunteer their time and energy to charitable organizations.
We strive to operate in an environmentally friendly manner every day. We seek out and use sustainable supply chains whenever possible. And we actively pursue new methods to increase our sustainable practices.
In the past five years, we have:
- Decreased our natural gas consumption by more than 10%
- Decreased our electrical consumption by 2%
- Decreased our water usage by 6%
We continuously pursue new environmentally friendly opportunities. Such as diverting waste from landfills and green energy generation. These and other sustainability initiatives are deeply important to BRF — and consistent with our Shared Values.
Our economic success also means success for our communities. We invest to help grow the communities in which we operate. And as our company has grown, we’ve hired additional people from these same communities — and we will continue to do so.
